Your New Favorite Band
REWD is a Canmore-based folk/rock/pop/indie quartet blending tight harmonies, banjo, piano, stompbox and a dash of mischief. Born at open mics in 2023, their sound draws on everyone from First Aid Kit to Talking Heads. The name? Rose, Emily, Wendy, Dave — politely “REWD,” and anything but boring.

Our Musical Journey

Who We Are
Born out of Canmore’s open mic circuit in 2023, REWD is what happens when four music-loving locals decide to see what happens if they actually rehearse. With Rose on piano, acoustic guitar and vocals; Emily on banjo and vocals; Wendy holding down the bass (and running the lights like a wizard); and Dave on acoustic guitar, piano, vocals and stompbox, REWD stirs together folk, rock, pop and indie into a tight, harmony-rich sound.
Their musical influences roam as widely as the Rockies: from the haunting harmonies of First Aid Kit to the genre-bending spirit of Chappell Roan, Etta James’ soul, Nina Simone’s power, Kate Bush’s art-pop eccentricity, Orville Peck’s mysterious twang and Talking Heads’ art-rock energy.
The name? It’s their initials (Rose, Emily, Wendy, Dave) — and yes, it sounds like “rude,” though they promise they’re very polite.
Fun, cheeky and always authentic, REWD’s live shows charm with unexpected instrumentation and harmonies that stick with you long after the last stomp fades.
